Being a big Elvis fan, starring as 'Young Elvis' in the 'Forever Elvis Show' in 1985, I toured up and down the country with the great Charlie Hodge, Elvis' right hand man.

It was fantastic to meet him as he was narrating the show, not only being on stage with him, but sharing car rides and even hotel rooms where we would stay up til 3am talking about Elvis, wonderful memories driving to sell out shows all over the country, not to mention appearing with Leyton Summers and Big Jim White who were among some of the best Elvis impersonators in 1985.

We toured and performed up and down the country for 3 years. As well as appearing in the 'Forever Elvis Show', I have had appearances on BBC's Look East and in 1986, I appeared on the 'Trisha Show' as well as walk on parts in 'Lovejoy', 'The Jasper Carrott Show' and movies.

Mel Stevens and The Classics (then Strollers) have supported Gene Pitney, The Drifters, The Searchers, The Tremelos, The Troggs, Marty Wilde and the Wildcats, Mud, Terry Dean, Heinz, Freddy and The Dreamers, Gerry and The Pacemakers.

In 2013 we supported Mike Sanchez, in 2014 we supported Alvin Stardust and in 2015, we supported Hermans Hermits and Showaddywaddy.

Mel Stevens and the band have toured and performed all over the country and internationally in France, Germany and Switzerland.
